A/F gauge . Is it useful.
Is an Air/ fuel gauge useful on a car that does not have a wideband O2 sensor?
Would it work precisly?
Already searched and didn't find good info. Please share your thoughts.
Thanks

I have. I bought one years ago when I thought they were useful. Then I realized they werent.
They do absolutely nothing without a wideband.
I have had both in at the same time on my ITR and yes they read different.

I temporarily hooked up an A/F gauge to my ITR and it was useless...holding dead steady revs anywhere in the rev band and the leds jumped all over the place from rich to lean. It looked good at night but i took it out as it was just distracting.
It is only really useful if you got major tuning N/A, boost, or nitrous. It will let you know where you are running at full throttle, You dont want to be boosting or spraying and your motor leans out. You can moniter that with the A/F guage. About 85% of people just put it on to look good
