looking into RSX price changes ahead? Wisconsin area but advice from anyone is gladly accepted.
hey,
i am looking into replacing my 98 civic ex with a 02-04 RSX-S...with the 06's hitting the dealership very soon, and the new civic si's coming later this year, do you think it would be better to wait on the purchase my 02-04 until then? also i have heard that it is much better to buy cars in winter then any other time of the year i am in wisconsin where winters can be pretty harsh, however i would perfer not to get a "newer" car and not be able to really enjoy it until March/April due to the weather. it just sucks because it doesnt seem like where i live has that big of a demand on the cars but at the same time everyone selling them privately has some sort of modification that they think is worthy of raising the price 2 grand and the dealerships...well are dealerships, and ask far too much. from experiance does anyone know about the winter purchasing (if it really makes a difference?!)

i doubt the 06 prices will change that much b/c it is supposedly the last year of production from them, as far as the used prices go, they prolly wont change that much either
but there will always be that one person that really needs to sell their car and you will get a good deal, juss shop around and have patience..

I would never buy a modded car from someone I didnt know, it just screams ragged out. When I was looking last year, before I bought mine, I saw plenty of dc5's and ep3's on autotrader.com. Some were priced reasonably and others not. I think some folks just like to price their cars high so it gives them someplace to go. It's been my experience dealers will often take a low ball offer, if it's not crazy, if you are buying today. They still need to move units.
I sold cars for years and the winter thing sometimes works and sometimes doesnt. Dealers will be more aggressive at the end of the month, espcially if they arent hitting numbers, because maybe there is snow outside. If you show up the last couple days of the month, READY TO BUY, and come in later in the day they will work on their price to sell a car and to get you out of there so they can go home.

i easily get quoted for 22,900 for a type s with no options. 06 pwp btw. i am picking mine up tomorrow. did a bunch of paperwork today
I think buying in the winter helped in my case on both my '02 RSX-S and my wife's '01 CRV. I got my S for $23,300 with rear spoiler, fogs, and wheel locks. I used to live in WI at the time. The SE WI Acura dealers (all 2 of them) wouldn't deal at all. I ended up contacting a bunch of the Chicago area dealers and soon had them bidding against each other. Did everything over the phone until the day I picked up the car.
