Carbon Fiber Sparco seat!!
Ok i have a carbon fiber sparco seat, bought it about few months ago from this one guy here on HT. Im guessing its really rare because i never knew they made a carbon fiber seat. The guy told me they only came out with it in one year and never reproduced it. Anyone know any backround or info on this bucket seat!!
Ok i did another search and found out it was made w/ fiberglass w/ a top layer of carbon fiber.
Ok now where can i get another seat like this so i have a pair!?!

Easy there Casey, he may in fact have a Sparco carbon fiber seat. I have a Sparco full carbon fiber touring car seat, you know the one with the head protection ears. My seat retails for somewhere around $2000 and is a very nice seat indeed (for that price, it better do some protecting). I use mine for racing and luckily I haven't had to find out about it's ability to protect.
What seat model do you have?

You mean there isn't a "Evo" stitched into the front part of seat.

I have a pair of CF Pro2000s as well. Damn good seats, and they retail for ~$1600 each, though I didn't pay that. Pics of the seat would help us identify it, though if you want a matching one, be prepared to pay an assload of money.

It's not rare at all:

Down at the bottom you can select color and fiberglass or CF. Carbon is $1477 for one, $1893 for two. There is a 5% HT discount though, shipping is free.

Not really, its just they sell it TOO expensive in one single seat.
for that price i would be able to get Kelver seats..

A lot has to do with shipping costs actually. Our stuff is sourced from England. It's still cheaper than most other places you would look, especially with the extra HT discount.

True.. I do agree the shipping cost too much. shipping was a pain when i purchase OMP RAC 7 years ago.. OMP/RECARO/SPARCO higher end models DO LAST LONG enough!! (well i do need to re-cloth it twice due to stoopid cigerette butt and spilling juice sort kinda crap..)
but as i grown taller and gaining weight over these years i puechase a WRC seat from OMP again, use to have a Sparco Rev but my butt area just doesnt seems right so i went back to OMP, nothing have to do with their quality.

It's expensive for a seat, but cheap for a quality CF seat. I'm assuming you mean kevlar with that other statement, and I don't know of any benefit of carbon-kevlar vs. all-carbon (or if there even IS a difference).

Carbon Kelver is lighter and stonger. My RAC weight about 5.5Kg.

Yes but thats a seat which is 7 years old, the new one is lighter.
For strength. my uncles bullet proof vest do have a piece of kelver inside, when it doesnt look exactly same..CF tend to crack in an impack condition as i know of, i think kelvar add a flexability there? i dont know.

Kevlar is not lighter than CF, however, when set in resin, Kevlar is less brittle than CF. It is usually combined in products with CF to increase the tensile strength of a part. A seat with a layer of Kevlar will be less likely to crack in an impact, but for any properly installed FIA seat to crack, it would most likely be a severe impact.

Woven Kevlar is lighter than the same weeve in Carbon fiber (20%) and the resin weighs the same for the same fiber/resin ratio. CF has higher tensile strength, and double Kevlar's tensile modulus. Kevlar is not added to increase tensile strength of CF, rather, it is used for impact resistance and crack abatement. CF is strong but brittle and Kevlar is strong and impact resistant.

My bad... in my mind I had confused tensile and impact strength. Thanks for the correction.
