Default Stock suspension question

Hey all, I just bought a 91 crx dx and took it home today and I thought the suspension was a little mushy. It doesn't respond so well to sharp turns and whatnot, and I was wondering if there is something I can do about this in the way of tweaking the stock suspension rather than just replacing the damn thing, since I am broke. Thanks all, I searched this up but mostly it was just about new suspensions.

After 14+ years, and assuming its the original suspension...
Those factory shocks probably need replacing along with your springs (that are probably sagging), and a new set of bushings would be nice.

But then again, assuming you dont want to replace the suspension with factory components, I would start looking into what set-up you want.

Either full coil-over or shocks and springs.

And on this topic the Search button is your friend.

Okay, thanks for the advice. I'll go look around at what other people have done then. What's a cheaper solution run at, do you think?

on this same note would the struts be replaced as a whole or just the shocks / and or springs?

Cheaper would be a shock and spring combo. Good coilovers are a lil pricey.
DONT BE FOOLED WITH EBAY COILOVERS!!!

I would replace both.
On my car i have Eibach ProKit springs and Bilstein shocks. Pretty comfortable ride even with the Bilstein shocks known to be a lil harsh, but nice around the corners.

Dont need it too low on shitty Jersey and New York streets.
But now since the car got a full resto job and Kandy paint, its gonna be a garaged baby and now im gonna buy a daily driver.
New setup might be TEIN...But thats after i build up the b16a

a suspension techniques rear swaybar will do wonders for your car. its about $135.

new shocks are nice too, but relatively expensive if youre cheap. id just get the rear swaybar, then see what you want.

im guessing your steering rack could be rebuilt and adjusted properly again. you can replace the steering rack end bushing for $10 in parts.
