Put a small amount of oil in each cylinder and turn
it over without the plugs..
Repeat until the compression comes back up..

Sometimes after a motor has been sitting for an extended period of time all the oil on the cylinder walls drain down and the walls become dry. Dry rings on dry walls doesnt seal too well, oil needs to be there too.

I doubt they start up immediately though, it probably takes a lot of cranking. I remember just recently i had a motor sitting for about a year and half and before i fired it up i poured a lil bit of oil in each cylinder, put the plugs back in, and it literally fired up within 3 seconds of cranking.

i wouldnt know because if the motors been sitting that long, i usually prime the motor first then i start it so i dont know if it would start up on the first couple cranks

If you have stuck rings like common on JDM motors, ATF (auto trans fluid) will break them loose.
I had a C27 (2.7L Legend) motor to swap out one time and it literally had "0" compression in all 6 cyl's, some ATF later and it had even compression across the board.
