Default My car is throwing a code for the knock sensor, can that hurt performance?

I have a 91 civic HB, with a JDM b16a swap, with a pr3 ecu and i am getting a CEL for the knock sensor, so is having a CEL for the knock sensor hurting the performance of my car?

whenever ur cel comes on ur ECU switches over to limp mode...which i believe retards the **** out of ur timing.that alone will make u lose performance..not sure what else it does so ill let others with more knowledge to chime in...

...not true to say the least.

Knock sensor cel retards ignition 2 degrees. From what I understand honda knock boards are pretty shitty at there job. Get your pr3 chipped and run a map with the KS disabled.

ok, i think i may have found the problem, i am aslo throwing a code for the IACV, so today i went to remove it to clean it and when i pulled the plug it was labeled knock, i had my harness made by rywire, the plug only had one wire running into it, a blue wire. So i figure that if i am throwing codes for a knock sensor and the IACV, and the plug for the IACV is labeled knock, that has to be my problem. I emailed ryan at rywire to see what i did wrong.
