I have a stock JDM h22a in my civic and i need to get it to pass smog so i can have it inspected by the state ref. can anyone help me with a list of what i need to make the car smog legal? and an estimate to how much it will cost.

 

It should pass as long as it is using USDM emissions gear. That includes the ECU as well as any other part that is different on the USDM vs JDM motor (and which would result in a different emissions system configuration).

 

is there anything else i should know before i go to the ref. like what they check for?

 

you need to run obd1 p13 usdm ecu and make sure no check engine light on.
hook up all smog sensor, egr, evap purge....and any mods should have CARB stickers on them otherwise they will send you home. in addition, you should have your motor swap paperwork ready, like a receipt where you bought it from.
