Water dripping on passenger side...
Hey guys, about 2 months ago, I noticed that during rainy days on the passenger side under the glove compartment water starts dripping in. I don't know if any of you have had this or similar problem on that side? I looked under the compartment and that is where the ventilation system is. I don't know if the water is coming from the window and dripping down onto the floormat from behind the glove compartment or what? Could it be the plastic thingy on the outside of the window that the wipers are on, is there rubber under that which could have gone bad?
Thanks, but I tried using the heater and ventilation system on dry days to see if it still drips, and it doesn't. So I think it must have something to do with rain and that it drips in from somewhere and then landing on the floormat from behind the glove compartment...
My 90 Si has been doing the same thing for a while now, I haven't been able to track down exactly where it's coming from. It only happens in mine when it is raining. I *think* the door seal is leaking and letting water drip in...
Is your car an Si?? If so it's possible you drains are clogged, and the water is overflowing and running down behind your A- pillar then behind the glove box. But, usually it will drip directly on your head if that's the problem. You might just have a bad seal around the bottom of your windshield. This is a common area for ANY windshield to start to leaking. If this were the case it would run into the car behind the dash like you are sayn'

I've used compressed air to clear out the drains and tested them to be flowing proper.
Also I just had the windshield replaced and it's been doing it the same in either case.
I'm a bit at a loss myself...I think the door seal may be screwed up...I can't track it down.
I may do a smoke test when I get motivated.

I don't really know. Tomorrow I'm gonna take the plastic thingy off the bottom of the windshield which has the windshield wipers on them, look under that to maybe check the seal or just clear out the drains like you guys were sayin, hopefully it will work cause its a big pain when it rains. Oh, and its a DX and only does it when it's raining hard or pouring. The water does not drip onto the floormat when its sprinkling, only when the rain is stronger...
Hey TuTu you have the exact same problem as my brother's car im guessing ur car could be a 91 which i was told that it was common in those years. The solution to your problem is to silocone lightly and let the magic do its thing , but make sure its 100% clean before you silocone it cause a little dripp of water can actually effect it.
EDIT: Its actually comming from my engine bay , fender side.

Yeah its a 91 DX allright. Should I silicone the windshield seal? What do you mean by the EDIT: Its actually comming from my engine bay , fender side? So its not the windhield after all?
Well if it's a CRX DX then forget about the sunroof drains. That's why I asked if it was an Si. The Si's electric sunroof has drains to prevent water from leaking into the car. Most aftermarket flip up roofs do not. I bet that's where your water is leaking from.
i'm gonna try siliconing windshield
eh, just looked , he hasn't been on here in over a year and a half...............
well that was an easy find
not the factory windshield
there is a channel on the rubber piece on each side that the window should be in, on the passenger side that channel is above the glass...lol...fin butchers
ge silicone ii and some painters tape should take care of it, i had no idea since the carpet is black, i just happen to write something down on a piece of sheetrock and throw it on pass floor....why is that wet?
