mine i bought a few years ago was two piece. but i remember seeing 1 piece versions before then. im surprised to hear that they went back to a 1 piece design.

quite frankly, you basically are just paying for that carb sticker. when i opened up the box after i received it, i couldnt believe i spent $200 on 2 pieces of tin, a rubber hose, a cheap filter, and 2 stickers...

I bought mine about 6 months ago and it was a one piece unit. It was for a stock engine 89 SI.

I'm running a B18c and had to get a "stepped" coupler where it hooks up to the throttle body (the outside diameter of the throttle body is larger on the B18c than what would be on a stock engine).

Technically, it's not legal, but does have the factory applied BAR sticker and when I smog checked the car, the shop didn't bat an eye at it. (the car has been BAR certified)

Everybody should know that the AEM intakes for hybrid cars do not have BAR certification!!

its V1 vs V2 intakes.

the AEM V1 Intake is 2 pieces (short ram tube with another piece to add to make it cold air. So you could rock it short ram if you want. kinda a 2-in-1 intake)

V2 is all one piece.

Both of my intakes were for stock D16.
