I think my antenna wire isn't hooked up on the radio, so my antenna doesn't even go up at all. I just left it that way, I can still listen to the radio, just static at times, hardly do I ever listen to the radio anyways.
i've thought about switching to the s2k style antenna, i know the power one that i have gets annoying with it going up and down... almost hooked it up to a switch to control it cuz i listen to my cds rather than the radio, but decided against it... but yeah, i'm dealing with the stock antenna for now too
hate to jack a thread but i have wut i believe to be a TL antenna. Its exactly like the S2K one but i think its smaller. Anyway i couldnt figure out how to remove my existing stock antenna and replace it with this one. A while back i disconnected the motor so it wont go up anymore but i like the way the short black ones look.
If any one can give me a quick describtion that would be greeeaaat, thaaaaanks.
(Got the antenna free so its no big deal if it wont work)

"a few nuts on the inside behind the trim panel and unskrew the crown nut on the outside and wallah! you don't have an antenna anymore." nospeedlimit143
if that doesn't help i'm sure i could look a little harder for something more useful
better yet, go to this, you might have to register for the site, but it shows a step by step for ya

you could always shave the the antenna and use an internal antenna, thats what i did. Spent about $25 for the internal antenna, catches FM pretty good but AM out of luck. You can always get the internal antenna booster to see if it could catch AM. Haven't tried it yet but will eventually
well the standard power antenna gets better reception but the s2k is still pretty decent for fm i dont know about am cause i dont listen to it but the major advantage of the s2k antenna is telling people you have an s2k antenna haha. its fun to play with sometimes when you wash your car and you spray on it with a jet stream. haha thats probably bad but whatever.
Ok... if one of you could explain how to remove the stock antenna, that'd be sweet. of course, i have to remove the side panel, but other than that, not sure what else to disconnect. I have the whole thing kinda unhooked right now with the power cut to it, and the antenna cable unplugged, but the motor is still hooked up to this clear tube... is it fine to just cut it? do I need to seal it? what are the steps... HELP. LOL
Stock, but that **** is pushed all the way down never to come up again
Still kinda get reception on the radio, but I just listen to CDs anyways so I really don't care.

no radio but i like the clean look, plus the radio plays the same ol' crap.
