Quiet mufflers?????
By now, you've probably come to the same conclusion as I have.
Using the word "Muffler" in any combination with "Sport Compact" ranks as an Oximoron. Much like "Army Intellegence"

Go with a e's tuning exhaust, Looks stock, nice quiet sound. http://www.inlinefour.com or http://www.jhpusa.com
as stated before, apexi world sport and rsr ex mag... but they are both catbacks.
but seriously if you want just the muffler, if its not stock, its most likly gona be loud.
...just get an amp

Yeh, I know. What's one mans' Rap is another mans' Cr..p (or something to that effect).
But in my own defense, I'm a little too old to subscribe to the testestarone ladden "loud noise = big power" attitude I followed in my youth. I learned a long time ago that loud noises and quick moves scare the "Birds" away everytime (except the bikini clad asian chicks that grace magazine pages).
Where are these girls when i want my car waxed?
I thought it was a fair question, and I made a fair comment. There isn't a flow-thru muffler that is anywhere near quiet.

he didnt ask for a flow through
its all about the flow of the chambering and muffler resonance. trust me, you can make more power having a non-straight through muffler. many times, you can make more

Ironically, I own one of those Magnaflow systems / mufflers that you listed; and honestly, I love the system; but would love it even more if it was quiet(er). It drones pretty good under a load. ....and all of their mufflers are flow-thru (straight tube, accousticle packing), no chambers here.

then you should have researched better before buying. i have an RS*R Ex mag. chambered muffler with 60mm piping. the exhaust note is very similar to stock in timbre, only a few frequencies lower. what does that mean? better flow w/o having any overpowering raspy sounds.

Sadly I did. And I got as many suggestions as there were respondents (and believe me, no two agreed)

i hear ya. theres alot of conflicting stuff on here
i had an idea of having a thread that was just links to mod-approved threads that were bascially reviews of the most commonly used products. of course, those threads would have to be carefully moderated, and urban sure as hell wont put in that effort

apexi WS, heard it was real reistrictive though compared to other exhuast in its class...greddy SP still has a noticeable increase in sound but pretty quiet compared to other exhuast...i seen vid/sound clips with people and there magnaflow exhuasts they dont seem real quiet to me, but i dunno, never has any experiance with them(they do sound real nice though, not raspy at all)
I have the fully magnaflow cat back. It say its decent for the money. I got the full setup for $300 shipped. I think what makes my car sound loud is the magnaflow high-flow cat converter which is basically a straght-thru pipe. My car almost sounds like a harley bike at high rpm. Seems to scare a lot of people when I drive by downtown.....
i don't think my evo 2 is very quiet but thats just me. I think alot of opinions in here are gonna be based on what people have heard before, therefore giving some conflicting reports. But it is generally agreed upon that the apex ws2 and the rsr are both some of the quieter full catbacks on the market.

well why dont you just use an aftermarket tip, about 20 bucks? it wont do anything, and you'll get the look, but keep it quiet.
