Help me pick a new tire (street @ 1/4 track)
The car: 1994 integra RS - semi-built b18c @ 16 psi 365 whp
As of now, I'm running 205 55 16 azeni's, which are pretty much worn out from 15k street miles and 40 or so passes at the track.
I would rather not change wheel sizes b/c I am limited on funds now, so I would like to find a 16" tire (similar size, possibly a fraction shorter and/or a fraction skinnier)
The azenis did decent on the street, not as well as I'd like though. At the track my best ever 60' was 2.201 with them, that was with my old boost level and 300 ish whp.
I drive the car a decent amount, never in rain though... can anyone suggest something?? i'd appreciate it.

I'll be happy to try to help. However, I'm not sure I understand exactly what you're looking for. I mean, I understand you're looking for a tire for your Integra on 16" wheels (which probably means 205/45-16 or 215/45-16 tires). But I'm not sure what your priorities are. It sounds like you're looking for something that grips better than the Azenis on dry pavement, and you don't care about wet traction (which you mention) or price or treadlife (which you don't mention). Is that correct?
Yes, I'm sorry for being vague. I don't care about wet traction at all, and I can sacrifice tread life for good traction. The size is 205 55 16 if i failed to mention it.
205/55-16 is not a good size for your Integra - especially if you take your car to the drag strip.
Your stock tire size is 195/60-14. 205/55-16 is 7.2 percent larger in outer diameter than stock!!! That is a HUGE difference. I'm surprised your tires don't rub on your wheel well liners or your suspension. And, of course, your speedometer and odometer are WAY off. That size also will make your car accelerate significantly slower; it's like getting taller gears for your car. Maybe that's why you're not happy with your car's performance!
The best match to your car is 205/45-16, which is almost exactly the same outer diameter as stock, which is what you want.
As for tires, the Azenis (either the old Azenis RT-215 or the new Azenis RT-615) are about the stickiest street tires you can get, and they're not available in 205/45-16. A similar tire, super sticky but still a street tire, that comes in 205/45-16 is the Hankook R-S2 Z212, which is available from Discount Tire for $89/tire. However, if the Azenis aren't sticky enough for you, I'm really not sure what to tell you to get. For most people, it doesn't make sense to get R compound tires (track tires) for street use, mostly because they wear so quickly (you might get maybe 5000 miles to a set used on the street, maybe not even that). But R compound tires are about the only thing that is stickier than the Azenis. If you wanted to try a set, the Hoosier R3S04 and the Kumho Ecsta V700 are both available in 205/45-16, for $190 and $128 per tire respectively.

I didn't realize there was that huge of a difference in stock tire size, and what I'm running now. The 205 55 16's were on the car when I got it. They occasionally rub the fender liners if I hit a nasty bump. I just figured going down in sidewall size would hurt traction even more. I may go with the 205 45 v700's. I'm not real sure. Thanks for the information, it is greatly appreciated.

Does anyone have first hand experience with the Kuhmo Ecsta v700? I am thinking of getting those or Azeni's again... Anyone have any other suggestions?
as of now i'm leaning toward the v700's

How can you make a recommendation that is so totally unsuitable for someone's specific needs? You really don't bother reading what people are looking for or what their experience has been, do you?

He also said that he wasn't getting enough traction from the Azenis. So suggesting a tire like the ES100 that has a whole lot worse traction than the Azenis is bad advice. (The ES100 is a good tire for people who want good "bang for the buck", not good for someone with a lot of horsepower who needs the best traction they can find.)
Don't post bad advice. If you don't know what you're talking about, don't post anything at all.
