Default Axleback question...

Out of curiousity,

What modifications need to be done to make an axleback flow the best? I was considering going to an axleback and getting rid of my catback, but I want to make sure I could get the same kind of gains out of both...

u will not get more gains changing from a catback to axleback...

but,

if u just had the axle-back with a stock bpipe, etc, then the best way to add more flow would be to remove the axle back....or jus punch that **** out @ a muffler shop...

stupid questions get stupid answers

For real gains you should do a 2 1/2" catback mated to a high flow cat.

If you are set on an axleback then you won't experience much gain but, you could do it and mate it to an aftermarket B pipe and a hf cat for the maximum gains it would provide. The only reason I could think of just an axleback would be for dollar savings. If you are set on some setup like the Spoon then there are a few that are better and more affordable or you could do the above setup with an aftermarket pipe and cat mated to spoons axleback.

If you are doing it just for sound then it's really not worth it IMO but, to each his own.

Good luck,

A.

I've been hunting for a good solution for a 2.5" cat-back but I've yet to find one.. I guess one that's custom made but I'm worried about the random sound I'll get from a random muffler.

I'm very sensitive about the sound of my exhaust because it's the first reason why people are labeled 'ricers' and such.. suggestions?

I emailed SMSP and I'm awaiting his comments.

You seem to be more well informed than I, can you give me some more information about these exhausts? I'll search and see what I can find but if you've had personal experiences I'd like to hear about them.

IM me or just reply here. Thanks!
