Default why do i feel dumb asking this (valve question)?.........

so i was searching my engine (an f23a4) sohc vtec and came across this image and was wonderin if it was like mine? does it really have 8 valves? that suks.... is this true? flamers welcome, but answer the question.... thx

8 intake and 8 exhaust so total 16

No, the image you were looking at was ment to visualize how four cycle engine internals work.
Your F23 may have a single overhead cam, but it has two intake valves and two exhaust valves per cylinder. This has become industry standard for overhead cam designs.
