That woud be the best permanant fix, actually. I would suggest two ways to cover up the holes. 1st way is to get some vinyl sticker that closely matches your car color and cut it into four little circles or squares. Use them to cover your holes, it should hold pretty well and it'll look flushed from afar. The 2nd way is to buy some plugs (i dont know the actual name for it) that they use for our interior panels. These plugs are used to keep the interior plastics pieces in place. If you dont know what Im talking about, check out the plastic cover on your Teg that covers the ECU. It's held in place by those little plastic plugs. Anyways, you can buy those from a autoparts store, just find the right diameter and push right into the holes on your trunk. The "plugs" have a fitting with these ridges that will lock them into place and keep a nice tight fit.

Hope that helps

I had a huge wing on my car too when i bought it....as a temp fix i bought some black(b/c my car is black) exterior trim plugs that are about the same size as the holes and put silicone around it to seal it....again it is just a temporary fix. If u have the chance to get your hands on a welder u can weld plates underneath the holes then use body filler to finish it, or get a new hatch all together.
