Ok guys I need some input pretty quickly, I cracked 1 of the sleeves on my b18b1 at the track on friday, I thought it was a headgasket but turned out to be the sleeve. I ran the car too many times without letting it cool down and I guess it just eventually overheated. Anyway, I need to figure out what to do. I start school the 29th of this month and I need a car for work so the fastest way I can get this thing running is what I want.

Can a sleeve be repaired? The crack is about 2.5"-3" down the sleeve. How costly is this, will I need a re-ring kit if I pull this apart to have it repaired?

Anyone know where I can buy a bare block or just the complete bottom end already assembled, or hell maybe even the entire motor(no tranny or accessories). I can't do a search because the search server is down or else I'd try to find a block/engine on here and search for sleeve repair. Throw out some suggestions, I have a little bit of $$$ in reserve for tuition next month but I'm sure I can put it back if I have to spend it to fix the car. I have a full k24a4 long block sitting in my garage that I would love to swap in but at this point I don't think that's going to be possible, so if you know any place that may consider trading me a b18b1 for my k24a4 then I am all ears, or if you know anyone that will buy my k24a4.

 

just get a b18 bottom end, they are dirt cheap

 

problem is finding one and getting it before next weekend though =/.

i cracked the sleeves on cylinder 2 and 3 last weekend, already picked up another motor, bc I just dont have cash to sleeve it at this moment. Just look around, and make sure you post on here, a bunch of deals came my way
