Need help with ZC!!! I am an idiot some times.
Ok so I when to change my T-belt and cluth while I had my motor out. I took the belt off so I could get a water pump too. Now for the stupid part....While I had the belt off, I installed the clutch. This means, I had to turn the crank a few times while I was tightening the bolts on the pressure plate. I am so afraid that I mightr have bent valves. I am not sure if the ZC from japan is a interference motor or not. please help!!!
Thats not the cleverest way to do it. Always do ONE thing at the time. Otherwise you can forget important things. I can say for a sure, i'm a mechanic. And sometimes i dont remember everything if i do TWO things at one time. And if i forget something, customer compains and this gives the bad image. You know the drill.
Hmm, for your problem.
You could do few things for checking it out.
If you have a optic wire, you could look thru spark plug hole. Thats what i did when my tensioner got loose, no bent valves and a good compression. (This happened on the road, 1000rpm and tensioner got loose. ((previous timing belt changer torqued the bolt too heavily, and weak aluminium broke)))
If you dont have a optic wire, you could take the head off and look, there you can see the most. Most of work also.
Then set the correct timing, put a belt on. And roll the engine slowly and carefully with wrench. Remember, the engine rolls counterclockwise
Hope that the piston and a valve dont meet.
Good luck, and remember. This has happened to the best of us.
