more zc??
i was stripping off all the crap i don`t need on my zc motor...like ac pump and ps pump and brackets ..on the ps bracket there is one bolt that goes through the timing belt cover can i just put a shorter one in it and can i use the zc down pipe with stock dx exhaust
Yes the stock ZX exhaust manifold and downpipe bolts right up to you DX cat. I am running that till I find a cheap used header local to me. I didn't put anything on the wraparound portion of the PS pump bracket. I felt if you put washers for it to bottom out with so the rubber seal would cap off the whole ever fell out from vibration anything bouncing around loose inside the timing cover would do far more damage than leaving a hole there. By the way you do know you need to shim the drivers side mount to lower that side of the engine so you don't dent your hood with the top of the timing belt cover like I did when you close the hood the first time.
If your ZC only has the top part of the manifold (a-pipe), you'll need a 92-95 (and I think 96-up) Si or EX down pipe. I got mine for $10 at a junkyard. It hangs a little low, but nothing too bad.
I can't even remember that bracket, but I wouldn't worry too much about it. I think I left it off, or used a bolt from my old motor.

hah, I did that too, i have a small little dent on my hood from that. Then my dad ripped the thing out, the hood brace, and that fixed it, hehe. Now i am just running with no timing cover at all.
i have the hole zc pipe.so i think thats what i`m going to use and put new 2in exhaust on instead of a header with stock exhaust. asfor the hood i`m plained on just running with out the cover. will it still hit? i know to look for this now but wondering if i have to cut the hood bracket too.
I didn't cut the bracket, I run the cover which I recommend (it's there for a reason), and its fine. It rubs slightly, but after 3 or 4 or 5 or however many years I've had it, it hasn't hurt anything yet.
