Taking a road trip Tuesday with some friends to FL, possibly visiting Miami, Ft Lauderdale, Sarasota, The Keys. Any suggestions for places to go in those areas? other cities to check out?

Not sure when I will be where, but lmk if anyone wants to meet up

 

Suggestion, Don't take the drive to Key West, It's long and the speed limit is/ was 45 mph the whole way down. I wanted to commit suicide half way. Take a small plane, faster and less headaches.
But it's simply beautiful.

I disagree, take the drive to Key West. I was just there 2-3 weeks ago. It's pretty neat, 7mi bridge is crazy long. They have a bunch of passing zones too. Depending on when you go though, there's a lot of traffic and that doesn't help much. Maybe travel at night? Rent a scooter when you're there for the day, parking is impossible to find. There's a coupon book you can find at places around town for discounts on stuff like that too if you're broke-*** like me

Universal Studios / Islands of Adventure in Orlando was cool too. Since the kiddies started school the week before we came down, it was empty. You may luck out this way too. We got the 1day/2park + express pass and were able to do both parks in one day and hit up pretty much every ride (minus the shows).

 

Visit Tampa!

Davis islands, Channelside, Clearwater Beach.

 

I say drive too... flying is for old men from NYork . No but in all seriousness, I dont know your intended route/s but 95 moves and providing you dont find yourself stuck in traffic it should make for a decent trip. Just alternate drivers you know . Have a great time...i was just down back in March for spring break and had a blast. Lots of members to meet up with also

I'm 10mins from Sarasota, stay away, lol.

No seriously, not sure what kind of fun and excitment your going to get out of of SRQ. But Siesta Key Beach used to be one of the nicest beaches in the US. Very cleaned. Night scheme isn't that great in SRQ. Alot of re-tired V8 rednecks resides in B-town.

Viewing attraction depands on your taste. Ol and saggy boobies is your thing, sure, come down, lol.

My tip, if your coming on this side of Florida, stay up north of me. Clearwater, Tampa, St.Pete are nice areas. You got Ybor, Channelside and a **** load of nice adult entertainment venue .

Other than that, Ft.Lauderdall and all down there is your best bet to go and be at. MTV's VMA is like next week, I think.

Agreed, it's a pretty drive. Mrs. Splat and I headed down that way a couple of years ago for my cousin's wedding. Not that aggravating, except for Miami.

Yeah I plan on it, I watched a show about the bridges, their origins, how they were built etc. Was pretty cool so I plan on driving the route
Oh yeah AC is a must, renting a Town and Country for the drive down.

check out Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, Riverfront at night in Fort Lauderdale a lot of clubs and bars good atmosphere, south beach is expensive but almost naything down this is good have fun

From what I've heard Strip Clubs in Florida are Tops off only

No way, but most of the full-nude clubs don't serve alcohol.

Avoid Tampa, it's fairly boring (take it from me)....Ybor City (clubs) and Clearwater Beach are the only notable spots.

Miami is fun (South Beach). I was just there last week. Great clubs (try "Mansion" on Washington Ave.), Good bars on the beach (try "Clevelander" on the S.Beach strip) and gorgeous cars and women EVERYWHERE. It's pretty quiet this time of year, but that means less lines, traffic and not-so-packed beaches.

If you go to South Beach, check out Sushi Samba for some great sushi (Lincoln Ave I believe?)

 

Mike, you have a free place to stay here in Orlando. Cost is a few Magnum 40s though. I can probably get you discount Disney or Islands of Adventure/Univeral Studios tickets as well

Florida is a LOOOOOOOONG ******* state dude. From GA/FL line to Keys is ******* like 10+ hours. lol

Appreciate all the offers Not sure if I will be visiting Orlando but should be in that area at some time (Most of us have been to Disney & Universal a few times but none of the other areas) Will definitely have to grab a drink with you guys
