Default stup!d or will it actually work?

i will be trying this this sunday at the local 1/4 strip, im planning on taking the air temp. sensor and plug the hole and at the end of the sensor tape down a cold gel pack to see if the ecm will think the air is to cold and see if it improves my 1/4 mile run { my last week run was 16.052 at 85.7 mph} so stup!d or will it actually work my car a '96 accord with 142,218 miles 5spd

tricking the ecu into making your engine run rich will bog your motor down and make you slower. The ecu will deliver fuel based upon airflow and cooler air is denser thus more air flow

you're just gonna succeed in making it run rich. more fuel /= more power without more air.
