Bad Luck or What?

I'm haven't been on much because I been enjoying my crx I purchase recently ( a month ago). The crx was basically stock 88 HF. Not a single part was riced out. Even the motor was stock. This is my second Crx that I have purchased. We'll here's the problem. The crx was acting up when you start up the ignition. A word to describe the problem would be " sludge ". If you dont know what this is, it's when the motor starts to shake. It does this when you start it up and it doesn't matter if your on neutral or pressing the gas while it moves, you can feel the motor shaking. We'll being as I dont have time to mess with it myself, because i'm in the last week of my college quarter, I took it to a shop and they said, you need new motor mounts. I have done motor swap in the past on my first crx before, so i said to myself, "Alright no problem". Paid for the shop inspection. I decide to get the motor mounts myself. I order the motor mounts for the d15b motor. While it was in it's shipping process, 2 days later.. My stock radiator cracked. So i went to a local radiator store and bought a OEM metal radiator for 160 bucks - life time warrant. So now i have a new radiator and is waiting for the motor mounts to get here. In the mean time, i didn't drive the crx. When the motor mounts finally arrived. I went to go start the crx so i can drive it out of the garage so I can move my cherry picker out of the way to use it. After i got the cherry picker out, I hopped back into my crx, put the keys in and gave it a turn and it doesn't turn on? I'm thinking omg! problem after problem!!. So now I know something is wrong with the electrical or gas line. So i open the hood and check fuses, ground, power. Everything was okay. Went back in the crx and gave it another turn on the key and i heard a clicking sound. OH NO!! it's the starter! Unbolted the starter. Took out my DMM and tested the starter. outcome was....not enough voltage. Open up the starter and found out the coils were clogs up with grease? Looks like dirty oil. So now I need a new starter. The next day, i went to autozone and got me a duralast OEM starter for 128 dollars. took it home, bolted it on. And WOW! the crx starts up so fast and strong. haha. Got the engine lifted up, put the motor mounts onto the engine. Drop it down into the bay. Bolted the mounts. All is good... But wouldn't you say.. this whole event that happen was bad luck?

Don't get me wrong, I love my crx'es. But it seems like, when you fix one part, another part goes out.

 

man, that sucks, but just think, now there is less to go wrong it the future, and now its at least running strong and you can enjoy it.

very true, but it's friday and now I'm short for a 6 pack of miller lite.

Yea thats pretty bad luck.

I had similar luck with my first car...1985 porsche 944...But witht hat car it was more like clutch, then gear box, then gear box, then gear box....lol i learned the hard way that car isnt built to do bunrouts .

Then I bought my first Honda...a b16a CRX Si...and ive had it for over 2 years and not one problem...Aside from it being in the bodyshop for awhile for a full resto

 

If you think about it, whenever you buy a used car your buying the problems the previous owner didnt want to even deal with or everythings worn and will need to be replaced sooner than later.

I always save my reciepts for parts as a proof of purchase.... I just bought a 88 hatch with 158k and i know im in for an overhaul..... it runs fine now, but i cant tell the clutch is going to loose within 5k,, grrrr = on the rus and other problems! t

 

my b16 in my crx took a **** last week going to have to get a new motor it looks like

 

ouch....whats happened for it to take a ****...too much fiber? j/k

 

not sure actually i was on my way to class when all the sudden in the parking lot i hear a loug clonking sound and almost like a supercharger whine. i turn the car off go to class and forget about it, get back in the car after class turn it back on and the sound is just horrible. turned the car off right away oil and antifreeze everywhere under the hood and the timing belt is super loose. had the car towed home, took out the spark plugs and cylinders was 2 and 3 spark plugs were drenched in oil top and bottom. i am about to pull the motor this week and see whats up any ideas would be helpful

 

Dosent sound too good...be ready for alot of alcohol
