Default 14.14 in 4 door h22 civic

I have ran a new best of 14.14 and 14.16 with mph between high 96 and mid 97.
these new times are on 22X8 slicks. im happy for now but need to retune my ecu. Mph on street tires is 98.2s.

Dont forget my car is full weight 4 door civic ex so I think my times arent all that bad.

I'd say those times are pretty good. Although i would say in ideal conditions, you'll probably be able to break 13's.

Why is everyone so scared of breaking axles? I launch at 6500+ (depending on the track) on stock axles w/ my current setup. I've launched at 8K before w/ my NA setup on OE axles both cases on slicks. The turbo'd car usually cuts low 1.8's and the NA setup cut low 1.7's consistently. Now that I'm done ranting, 13's are definately in your near future. Don't be scared to lauch that bitch!

What psi do you run in your slicks? Also what do you think i should run in mine? I weigh 2600 pounds or so slicks are 22x8 M/t 15inch.
Last time I ran these slick was on my 99 si and i kept bogging out the whole then i launched it at 8 grand a blew a hole in the tranny, thats why im scared LOL.

Thanks in advance.

With my NA setup I used to run 11 psi in the slicks (play w/ psi at different tracks though). Do a search on here for "preload" or "preloading". I do that on every launch and have yet to break a drivetrain component w/ this method :knocks on wood: Hoep that helps.

What mods did he have done? I know you say stock but does he has intake or header or exhaust? What s his timing? Anything that you can share would be great so I can get my car were it should be.

Thanks.

Like hondaguyef said... play with pressures and launch RPM. And if you do travel to different tracks... start with a fairly high pressure in the tires... never want to underestimate the traction available at different tracks. Better to spin to hell and back than to bog and stress stuff.

You could definately get mid 1.9s most likely if you launch it around 7200 or so rpm. But I see you're trying to sell it so... oh well.

Fast 4-doors are sweet.

yea whats the point of using the slicks if your not even gonna put them to good use i pulled those 60's on azenis oh and your 99si was prolly bogging because 22inch slicks are a little tall for heavy b16 coupe with very little tq.

Ok once again like i stated in my first post i wanted them mainly for the 1-2 shift so i wouldnt spin from 40-60 mph.

I heard azenia tires are bad *** glad to hear you got good use from them. I feel a little more comfortable with the slicks now cause i made 6 passes on them and everything feels fine. I did though pull a 2.07 60ft but i missed a gear wich kinda sucks cause i think that was my ticket to a 14.0-13.99 pass.

Thanks for you input thogh.

nice times..

dont be afraid of breaking axles...both our cars run stock axles... and we use 26"and 25" slicks.... 5psi of air also

if you dont launch hard you wont get the full benefit of your setup and slicks....

just preload and you'll be fine. good luck next time...

To preload simply engage the clutch partially when you stage so that the driveline and suspension are already loaded with force, use the E-brake with firm pulling to keep the car in place, when you take off, there is no shock from No load to Full load of the launch, instead the force goes straight to the ground. Its kinda like when you pull a ratchet steadily, and then sometimes you use a hammer to create a high peak force to break loose the nut/bolt. You doing just the opposite, trying to prevent a sudden jolt or shock of force. I hope i didn't make that confusing as hell.

Thank you I will try that next time I go out. Do you guys pull a better time when doing this vs not preloading?

well depending on how you do it, yes... we've pulled 1.5 60ft to 1.7 60ft preloading and ran 9's and 10's on stock axles (OEM and Autozone)...
