Default Door lock sticking..

I have manual locks and windows on my 1997 Accord. The rear passenger door the lock became really hard to pull up. Well, I got out some channel locks and tried to pull it up but that broke off the top of the lock button. Was wondering if anyone possibly could take a stab as to what caused this in the first place?

Well it just is really hard to pull up and push down...Is taking off the door panel rather simple?

I would definitely pull the panel off, as that will give you a far better view of what is going on mechanically in there. So yes, removing the panel is probably the only way to go, I dont think you have much of a choice since the part needs to be replaced anyways.

BTW, what is up with your screen name? Did you previously get banned by Knightsport?

I have no idea what you are talking about in regards to a banning. I've only just joined...

Well, I'll give it a go....My only guess is maybe something is pinched in there or something...

Then again the whole bloody thing could be jacked...

Assuming that this is a serious question... yes, pull the door panel off and take a look. It's a little tedious, but not hard. Pick up a Haynes manual and it'll give you step by step instructions.
