Hi guys i have an ITR 96 can anyone tell me if the synchros will be damaged after a few
miss shifthing? I have just changed my third and fourth synchros and yesterday i missed shifting going from second gear to third gear on high revs. Does this mean problems with the syncrhros or you have miss gears more that once to damage them agian? Thank Guys.

 

Shifter forks could be bad, Did you inspect them when you had the tranny open?

 

Is the synchro grinding after the error? If not, then the damage is minimal. You can somewhat get an idea of the magnitude of the damage by changing your transmission fluid and capturing the particles in a coffee filter. Lot of chunks = lot of damage and vice versa.
