Car won't start!
I have an 88 HF /w an si swap. I drove the car for a long time and then after I got another car it has been sitting. About 4 months ago I tried starting it and it didn't start. I thought maybe it was a ground somewhere since I pieced this thing together. Checked grounds and all was fine. So I sort of forgot about it for awhile until we had a friend over who is a Tech for Honda. He looked at it for me and suggested it may be cheaper to check fuel first and clean the system up, even use some carb cleaner to get it started. He thought it was bad fuel. So I replaced the fuel filter, soaked the injectors w/cleaner, put some injector cleaner in the gas tank and took off the intake to squirt some carb cleaner in. Nothing. So it's down to probably being spark related? I took out a plug and held it near the v cover while a friend cranked it and it did spark against the v cover. There is pressure in the fuel system and it seems to get spark. All it does is crank crank crank but never turn over. I have kept the battery charged and still nothing. I am lost. Could it be the distributor? Main relay? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

I'll check all four plugs to see if they are all sparking. As far as timing it hasn't been touched since I first got everything started up and timed. Then it ran fine after I got it started up. It was only after I let it sit for almost a year. And actually it had been sitting longer than that cuz the guy I bought it from left it sitting for 2/3yrs b4 i got it. Thanks.

haha waht does it have like 5000 miles on it or what? thats a lot of sitting.
I would check spark plugs cause if they are all getting spark that would cancel out the dizzy (at least thats what I thnk)

When I first got it I changed em but I'll check again in case they may have been damaged. I hope we've got it figured out. BTW, do you guys know if I can use HF seat rails on SI seats?

I would say yes as long as the seats are from 88-89 or 90-91 and are going in the same not crossing them.
Change the oil to man that is no good to after sitting for so long. perhaps drop some oil in where the spark plug was to let the cyliner walls get some lube on them. Might have to check compression too. After sitting so long gaskets could be bad.

Cool on the seats. Not so cool on the gasket check. I hadn't thought of that. That's a good idea about the drop of oil in the injector opening. It could be unlubed too. I should have started it at least once or twice a month. Well if I get out of this jam without having to put in new gaskets/rings then I will stay on top of that for sure. Thanks!
