Default Sticker free 600RR pics...

It probably took me almost 3 hours alone just removing the black part on the gas tank because of the coat of clearcoat over it but the black on the fairings was easy. But all in all I think it was worth the time.

AFTER

BLING BLING lol

Yeh i think stickers draw attention to the sharpness of the bike, taking them off makes it look more bubbly if you know what im saying....

However, his bike is one straight color so i think it looks very sharp without the stickers!! mine on the other hand being 2 differnt colors wouldn't look as good without them

The red RR looks better w/ the stickers, IMO. Still looks nice w/o them though.

The red one looks nice, but the wing sticker might have looked better if you kept it on.

Looks AWESOME without the stickers!! Can you post what kind of polish you used to take off the sticker on the tank? Mind to post a little how-to?

It looks a lot better. I was under the impression that you had to spray another coat of clear if you decide to remove the decal on the tank.

You basically used a "hook" or some sharp object to cut an outline of the decal? To smooth it out, you used honda polish? Can you get closer pictures of the tank?

Also, did you polish the rims yourself? What were your methods?

Now to the questions...

I'll snap some pics tomorrow when I get back home of the tool I used, and then just a hair drier, some goo gone, and Honda polish and lots and lots of scrubbing... Check back tomorrow or tuesday and I'll have some more info up for sure.

Another coat of clear would make it look perfect again, but like I said you really have to be looking for it and get within a foot or 2 of the bike to notice IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR IT lol.

Yea i'll get some closer pics of the tank and of the tool I used, and Yes I used the Honda polish.

Nah the rims are aftermarket chromes...

Looks good, I like red bikes.... but I'd take off the huge Honda sticker on the lower fairing too.

You could probably wetsand the tank with wet/dry sand paper working your way up to 3000 grit. Then buff with a high speed buffer to bring the shine back out. Research wetsanding/buffing automotive clear for more info.

I personally would take a razor blade and run it flush with the surface cutting parallel to the surface. This should get you just below the graphic so you can peel it up with the sticker/emblem.

If you press the cutting tool perpendicular to the surface you are going to cut into the clear and it will not be able to be covered by wetsanding/buffing.

This is how I did my buddies zx12r emblems when I repainted his bike.

The last shop had sprayed the paint/clear over the puffy raised letters on the tank.

As far as the look, all one color makes the bike look like it has been repainted which is usually due to a wreck. I would have pieced a second set of fairings together and had em painted one color. That way if you decided to sell you wouldn't loose money on it for changing the graphics/body. My 929 was all red when I got it and I had it painted blue/white cause I hate red so I can't really comment on your bike. The all black looks pretty good. Paint the lower cowl black to match and it will look even better I think.
