90 HF Tranny into my 89 Civic sedan. Will it fit?
I want to eventually install a 1990 CRX HF tranny into my 1989 Civic Sedan.
I'm pretty sure I'll have to replace the clutch disk b/c they come from different years for it to work.
If i replace the clutch disk and bolt it in, will it just be plug and play? Will it work with my axles?

I'm talking about the CRX HF, not the Civic HX

it will bolt right in - use your axles, as all L3 transmissions (except ZC) have the same diameter and number of splines where the axles fit into the differential - axles are only different at the hub end on CRX HF and Civic STD models - will work with clutch you have - as long as transmission isn't 88, it will work with any 89 and up clutch

what he said...
88 trannies have 21 spline..
89 and up are 20 splines..
u can install any 89-91 into any d series motor...u would only have to match the flywheel with the clutch...

Sweet. IN that case I'm glad I got the 90 instead of the 88
