How to tell difference in 86-87 and 88-89 PG7's??????
I serched and couldn't find anything really. Is there someway to tell the differences in the years just by seeing the case? I've read somewhere that one of them has an X stamped on the case and one doesn't i'm just not sure which is which? Anyone have any idea? ....Thanks
http://www.redpepperracing.com will help you out with 1st gen stuff.
Are you talking about 1st Integra
or
1st gen CRX Si ecu and 2nd gen (88-89 not 90-91) ecu? Sorry I suck at ecu codes .

86-87 PG7 will have part no. 37820-PG7-66# if it is manual transmission, 37820-PG7-67# if it is automatic and looks like this:

88-89 PG7 will have part no. 37820-PG7-A0# if it is manual transmission, 37820-PG7-A1# if it is automatic and looks like this:

OK well the part number of the one I"m looking at on ebay 3728-PG7-A131 but it has an X stamped on the case like the 86-87. These are the pics of the ecu that are on ebay. in the first one you can see the x stamp and in the second you can see the part number. So... it has a stamp like an 86-87 but a 88-89 part number. Guy says its from an 89. I just wanted to be sure what I was bidding on. Could it have the stamp because its an auto ecu?

he prolly stuck that on there because its in the wrong location....it IS a 86-87, I confronted a guy about selling a 86-87 ECU on ebay before as a "88-89" and he was pissed, I even went so far as to email all the buyers about that, and he got pissed at me when it didnt sell...lol
well looking at the pics again I just noticed that in the pic with the part number it doesn't have the stamp. I'll have to email him and ask for a pic of the build date on the ecu. The seller has over 18000 positive feedback....not sure if he would try to scam on purpose.
