Default mild ls vtec build vs. ls turbo build

the new motor is about to go in my hatch and before i spend all the $ i want to make the right decision the first time. im looking for a quick daily driver thats reliable. i was thinking of going with a b16 head, stock cams, ctr pistons and rods. or going with a simple turbo setup @ 8 - 10 lbs. ive got about 1700 to spend on the project so im not expecting anything crazy. anyone have any opinions on which would be better?

since your only doing a mild build ls turbo will walk all over ls/vtec because of the trq the turbo gives and with the right turbo 8-10 lbs is good for 250hp...it will be alot harder to get 250 from n/a

im going ls turbo instead of ls/vtec

edit- i like your sig "god created turbo lag to give v8's a chance" seems like you know what you want

i def want to go turbo but am a little weary about daily driving it. should i be good at 8 or 6 lbs daily driven on a stock ls motor?

ive seen 10lsb on a stock ls....its all about tuning. people ride around for years with no problems and i plan on boosting my stock ls when i get it and its gonna be my dd too, just dont get cheap on tuning and remember you will need tuning either way
