i've been told in the past that the automatic Bseries transmissions are too big and wouldn't fit.

anything's possible though...

Well then, props to you! If it is the OBD-0 ECU being used couldn't you use the stock auto B16 ECU and wire from there the same ?

I'd like to know how much it cost you for the whole swap. I have a 4dr and would like to do the very same thing. I'm sure that because its an auto that it would be widely available and pissably cheaper, ya?
I'd buy a 5spd but the Mrs. would say otherwise, so Auto here I come.

Why not just buy another car for yourself? It's not like 1988-1991 shells are expensive. Hell, I just got a 1988 4DR in GREAT shape for $300. That way, you don't have to deal with all the minuses (and there are LOTS) associated with an automatic transmission.

the wiring on the b16 tranny is different that what would be found on a d16. thats about the only trouble i'm having at this time.

We are trying to finish this swap for a customer that started it at his house and didn't know what he was getting into. so far his bill stands at about $700 for labor (cutting and rewelding motor mounts mostly).

I understand that you will have to go from OBD0 to OBD1 for the B16A's..I believe that you can get a wire harness conversion through http://rywire.com that way it's all plug-n-play when they are done with it.

$700 isn't that bad considering a friend of mine nearly spent 3k to drop in a LS in his 97EK.

Good luck mang!
