sr20det 90% done...tons of pics....WARNING 56k- go build a motor
I've had a few threads on my sr rebuild. I figure this will be the last thread I'll make on the build, so enjoy. I've had two sr's in my bedroom...the first one had all sorts of **** wrong with it, so they sent me a second one. I originally disassembled to change the headgasket, but then I figured hey, why stop there. I wanted this motor to be able to handle anything I can throw at it, and I'm confident it can. 100% of the build was done by myself in my bedroom. Enough of the babble, here are some pics. Thanks for looking

The list
new oem bearings
balanced crank
block bored/ honed/decked
rods honed to fit wrist pins
eagle rods
wiseco pistons
cometic 1.2mm HG
arp head studs
valve job
new valve stem seals
new valve seat locaters
comp valve springs
crower titanium retainers
greddy rocker arm stoppers
new water pump
new timing chain
new timing chain guides
new oil pump/ timing cover
new gaskets throughout entire rebuild
jim wolf c1 camshafts
jim wolf cam gears
greddy intercooler kit
complete engine gasket set
tools (mic set, bore gauge, piston ring filer, torque wrench, few large sockets, piston ring compressor, piston ring expander, piston ring filer...gas to drive to enjuku racing in orlando numerous times etc etc)
Sorry, but its a big accomplishment for me at 19 years old. I know, its nothing until it runs and is tuned, but I'm severly confident

Haha, actually, no one could tell when they walked in the front door that there was a motor in my room. One problem though, I've got some SEVERE A.D.D. from the fumes....
dope, reminded me of when i did my first build... btw at 19, where did you learn how to build a motor?
I took it all apart twice from the two motors, so I became quite familiar with where everything went and how it worked. A few days ago I helped a buddy of mine with his SR (headgasket change)...so at this point I know where everything goes and how to dissable/reassemble with my eyes closed..Plus I took hundreds of pictures and labeled every part in a bag with the corresponding bolts..For the rebuild, I downloaded the FSM...800 some odd pages of the motor itself. So basically, I just studied that for specs and torque settings etc etc.

HA, I had to move it to a garage and one day I picked up the tranny and put that in the trunk. The next day I picked up the assembled shortblock and put that in the trunk. Getting it in there is easy, getting it out is another story.
