Default Transmission? Please help!

I have a 1996 Honda Accord VTEC 4Cylinder A/T Sedan with 97000 miles. The check engine light is ON. I took my car to a mechanic and he hooked my car up to his computer. The error code that he received is T/C clutch system failure. Can anyone explain what this means? Also, while driving my car, I noticed that my car take a very long time to shift into second and third gears. The RPM revs very high(about 3500) but after a couple seconds, its shifts. Can anyone please advise on what to do.

There was another thread on this and I posted a pix of what you need to look at. Most likely the lockup cylanoid has failed or could be the torque converter and if the converter is out, it is trans rebuild time.

torque convertor clutch, I'm going to saying the solenoid is bad, thats off the top of my head though, they'd have to run tests on it, AAMCO does these test for valve body pressure.

first off on top of tranny below radiator hose u got 2 sets of solenoids lock -up and shift solenoids, i would remove both of those, clean the metal screen, blow compressed air in the passages,, ,,, if u see any metal shavings in the screens it might be tranny time,, anyho,, put all together, replace tranny fluid use honda Z1 atf and try it out ..
