Default Replacing Oil pressure switch D16A6

Did a search could only find info on Vtec applications, and not what I was looking for, any help is appreciated.

Motor: D16A6
Problem: Oil light is on after rebuild

Had the motor rebuilt not long ago, runs strong and has been running great since day 1. Drove from Vancouver BC to California with the oil light on, and I know the pressure is good. I was told by a Honda Mechanic that it happens, and that probably the sending unit needs replacing.

I had thought the sending unit was right beside the oil filter and had the two wires coming from it, am I mistaken? I ordered a replacement from Honda, and found that the one they sent me only has 1 prong for attaching wires. Called back Honda and was told that the “Thermal Sensor” has two prongs, the oil pressure sending unit has 1. Is this correct? If so, where do I find the oil pressure sending unit on the block?

Thanks for any constructive help you can give guys!

Yes, that is correct. The sender is just to the left and down a little from the Thermal Sensor. Just one wire.....right above the oil filter..

Im sure I know the location your talking about. The wire itself has a black boot on it, correct? I had taken a look at that one last night, and I was pretty sure that the part I was given would not fit there.

I will have to get it back up on the hoist and check again, thanks guys!

Just as a side note, has anyone ordered this peice before and know for sure the correct Part Number from Honda USA?
