The attached pictures are of a GSR configured header for a H-T member who wanted them coated in black. He'll be running them on his ITR without the Aluminum bracket. I think he likes the sleathly look.

It turns pink, but shhhhhh he doesn't know that.
I've only seen a red Airborn coated header on a road race car and it only change very slightly. Any of the standard silver ceramic coated headers (any coating company) tend to loose their shininess and get a little dull over time. My guess is the flat black over time might get a tad dull but should still be flat black. At worst, I wouldn't expect it to get any lighter than a very very dark gray, but we'll see.

Thanks guys.
I use 5mm stainless steel studs with double nuts on each end, so no loctite. Yes, it is adjustable. With ths set up you could shorten the primaries and or secondaries up to 2". If you were to use tube extensions you would need longer studs.
Do you loctite the bolts that hold the header together? Also, Dave is that header adjustable? Is that why you have it set-up that way?
sweet! I would'nt think black would radiate the heat as efficient as a lighter color, since black absorbs heat + light whereas lighter colors reflect...does this apply to headers?? or am I just looking into this too much??
