Default tranny issues......did i blow the differential??

last night, i was at the track and launched the car at around 3200 rpm (B18B w/ GSR tranny). i heard a loud *** grinding noise and the car didnt move at all. if i let the clutch out slow, it moves, but, then the loud knock/grinding noise happens when im barely moving. i also noticed that all my tranny fluid leaked out..........anyone got any ideas on what could have happened????

Here's a thought, have you physically removed the transmission and opened it up to physically see what's wrong? We don't know what happened. It could be a number of things.

i did that one time except that tranny oil wasnt leaking out... i just snapped the outer bearings for the axle.. did the same thing u described...your axle could have just simply popped out of the case of the tranny... check ur axles... and if they seem okay its ur tranny

something similiar happened to me... the axle actually popped out of the tranny and the splines were jumping and making noise and fluid was coming outta there. Just check the obvious stuff first b4 tearing the tranny down.

well, i got under the car finally, and heres what i found....

i found a small, pea size hole the is located above the shift linkage (the part where the pin is pushed into the linkage to hold it in place). anyways, the obvious was also that both axles have ripped CV boots cuz there is grease everywhere. anyone else have more input???
