After my accident on the way to the Expo I've finally bought something to try and replace my R. I'm going to pick up a new G35 Coupe 6MT tonight. I'm really going to miss my Type R and it will always be special to me. I'm kind of dissappointed there's nothing like it available now. My Type R was my 5th Honda product and I've had a Honda product since 1988.

I've met some great people here on the board and I hope to keep in touch with all of you and I hope I'll still be invited to the Chicago area BBQs, other events, and hopefully the next Expo. Of course considering my record on actually getting to Expos I may have to reconsider. I'll still check in every once in a while.

If there's a good side to this its that it looks like my car is going to get to do something I've kind of always dreamed it was going to do and become a track car. I've thought on more than one occaision since the accident of doing it myself and have tried to talk myself out of selling it, but I really don't have the dedication, time, and money to really do it and do it right.

I'm going to have some parts up for sale here soon including a Comptech header, Comptech Exhaust, a JL Audi Vantage box with 10W0s, some Kosei K1s, and some Pirelli snow tires. I'll post in classifieds and add a link to this thread once I get everything together.

I never got a chance to meet you, but i was in the mix of cars that came to a very very fast hault there in Chicago. I am sorry you had to fall in line where you did....it was a very close call for us all. Best of luck to you...the G35 is a great choice IMO. Have fun and definitely dont be a stranger

 

Unfortunately I'm not smart enough to keep from changing my R to a track car. I'm in the middle of an SCCA - ITE build right now.

BTW - you are welcome at any of the Expos coming up. Your incident with Expo 5 really sucked *****. Come hang out with us anytime in your G35 pimp-daddy mobile.

True. Especially when I used to run around using 35 all the time. Now I guess the 35 will fit.

I was in that line of R's. It was a close call or all of us, and I am sorry your R fell victim. I hope to see you at the track one day with your replacement

Well guys I have finalized the plane ticket, notirized the bill of sale and on Monday I get to go up to Wisconsin and load my new R on the transport vehicle. I'm going to be in need of a few parts so if any of you JDM front end rockers still have USDM parts please let me know as this car will need a new front end. shitz thats a loooong trip at that hour from my area. traffic on NB I-94 from me to gurnee area is ruthless... might take several hrs instead of 1 hr on the off hours. maybe mugen mike or someone up that way (AA???) can pix joo up and we can all meet in scott's area?
