Default ITR Turbo + Hondata = whirring noise!

Been boosted for a while on stock ecu. Since it was swapped out for the Hondata, everytime when I start the car from cold, I get quite a loud 'whirring' noise (like a vacuum cleaner) for a few minutes and then it goes. WTF is it? Is it a feature on the P28 that is/isn't present on the stock P72/73 that could be causing this?

I never had wirring on mine.
Sounds like its something coming from the turbo itself

I don't believe it does, and should be unplugged. I thought the only issue the PCS would cause with a p28 is bogging at idle when intake temps exceed 150 degrees (If I am wrong, please correct me).

Ahhh. I did look at this closely to try and pinpoint the source of the noise and it seems like thats where the noise is coming from... So what exactly does it do?

When you say unplugged, you mean just disconnect the rubber hose connected to it and leave it open?

just remove the entire EVAP system (unless you need to pass emissions of some sort).

I believe it vents fumes from the fuel lines/tank. That goes to the "can" which filters the gases and then exits under the car into the atmosphere. (or something like that).

take out the system, plug the hole on the IM, and get a much crisper throttle response.

Cool. Is it really going to effect my tune? The last thing I want is for my tune to freak out and AFR to go lean on me...

I dont really think it will affect your tune any, but it might be a good idea to get on the dyno or datalog your setup if you remove the system.

Why not just unplug the electrical connection and leave it alone? Why the need to take anything off?

It does, it creates a vaccuum leak at idle since the purge evap system is slightly different than on an integra.
