From: seatown, but canadian, eh
well, after being out in the north east all my life, it's time for me to move on to bigger and better. in a week's time, i'll be driving out to seattle to start work on a full time basis. i did this road trip last summer for my internship at microsoft and since it was such an amazing experience, knew it was definitely worth repeating while i have the opportunity
this time around i have 8 days. here's the tentative route. what i'd like from you guys: if i'm missing anything, or if anyone is in the areas i'll be passing through and would like to meet up, please do chime in

the route i took last year, with full pics at http://penpen.ca/images/roadtrip/

denver, CO:

somewhere in utah:

i've already road tripped to omaha for ITR expo, summit point WV for hyper-fest, mont tremblant QC to track on le circuit, philadelphia and key west FL, all this summer, so this will be the biggest yet. if the ITR gets its a/c put back in for the trip, i will take her. otherwise, it's gonna be the supraaaaa.

General Question for all ITR owners:
Given that USDM ITR gearing is relatively short, aren't these road trips a bitch on gas and average mph!?? I'm running ITR gearing and I find that highway driving sucks sometime!! I can't cruise higher then 130-135 km/h. Need a Gsr 5th maybe... :

I get 36 mpg in fuel economy mode, in rag out mode anywhere from 20 to 32.

I would make a detour to Memphis and hit Graceland.
Either that or take the more direct route through South Dakota and Montana - then you'd be able to let the R fly.

Looks like an awsome trip, Ur gonna just barley miss us Sacramento R owners. Hwy 1 Is a blast to drive, I did it on my Harley from Eureka to Fort Bragg. Fort Bragg has an awsome micro brewery with good clam chowder. Be careful in Eureka...that place is creepy, lots of transiants so keep ur R safe if u stop by there. Enjoy the Drive and congrats on the new job
Also if u have time I would recomend driving through "Avenue of the Giants". Its abut 15 minutes south of Eureka, Its just a scenic drive through some huge redwoods. Kinda cool if u like that kinda thing

Memphis is a possibility and a good idea, Jonathan. The queen will have to chime in on that one.
I've driven through Montana and the Dakotas 3 times this year already, so I'd prefer to avoid that route -- Lori and I also did a route across the northern plains in Canada on the way back to Toronto last summer, and that was boring as hell (going 130-160kph at night for HOURS while she slept in the car).
...plus we have some friends to visit in Fresno and San Fran.
Can't wait to get my Supra back - I've missed it this summer.
Now that the 155mph limiter is gone we'll have to try to top it out (should be good for 170+).

Edit -- Here's the road trip from last August/September:
