cruise control issue
Most of the time, my wife drives the Honda to work and to run errands. It is 99% of the time city driving. Anyway, last weekend we are driving and I take the car on the interstate. I turn the cruise control switch on and press the "set" button, and nothing. Normally, you can hear the click of the cruise control engaging. But this time, nothing. I don't know how long it has been like this since most of my wife's driving isn't of the "cruising" type.
How durable are the cruise control units on the Hondas? I've never had one go out on a car before. Thanks.
Obviously, first thing will be the fuse to check and wire connections. Other than that, where else should I look? Thanks.

few things u can try first off open hood and chk plug and vaccum hose at accumulator make sure both are connected properly chk those especially if u had any work done to ur car recently in that area,,,,,,,,,
Also what year car as I have seen on some 03 and 04's that the brake switch not being positioned right can cause for the Cruise to not work. Or just a faulty switch but that does not sound like your case.
When you push the main on/off button does it click and stay recessed or does it always pop back out. Also doe the cruise main light stay lit on your guage after you set cruise. If not it is a faulty switch on your steering wheel or main switch.
Just some suggestions.
As for durability I have 254,000 rough *** miles and my cruise works sticks within 2 MPH when I set it. I can't even read the buttons anymore so it is well used.
Otherwise if it has warranty use it.

There hasn't been any work done under the hood recently. About a year and a half ago, I changed the timing belt, but after reassembly, the cruise control worked fine. I will check the areas you mentioned.
To answer your other question, the car is a 1991 DX coupe, 5-speed.
