Changing Final Drive ??s
I was looking at the Helms manual and it looks like all that is needed to change the final drive gear is to unbolt the old one and put in the new one. What fits in a '93 LS tranny (cable)-
92-93 GSR?
ITR?
'94+ GSR?
Thanks

The "last" gear driven in the transmission- it is always used regardless of what gear you are in and it bolts to the differential. Giving a higher final drive to the long (low) geared LS tranny makes it an ideal turbo tranny (to me at least).

It's not as easy as just taking one out and putting one back in.
Contact Lotus in the R forum, IM him since he's tha last one who's done it recently. He has lots of knowledge and could help you alot with the install.
If done, it would be a weekend job, you just don't want to rush it. It would probably be a good idea to have a few buddies to help and also good to have sufficient supply of beer.
and or a car to run and get beer if need be...
Mine is getting done this coming Tuesday. I chose the ATS 4.929 and the Toda flywheel. I have already driven a car with it and know exactly what to expect. I am very anxious, not fearful just extremely excited. Check the R forum for my post on Tuesday night or Wednesday for results. It is very noticeable and worth the money.

I guess I gave the wrong impression about it being "easy." What I meant by that is that the parts are supposed to bolt up, as opposed to everything else that I'm doing in my CRX GSR swap.
Thanks for the tip, I'll give him an email.
