Default need help with distributor wiring b16a in 97 ex

i purchased an aftermarket high output ignition coil and i just switched it back to stock b/c i don't think it was made for a vtec motor, after putting it back to stock my check engine light came on and won't go off, i reset the ecu by unplugging the battery terminal and left it off for 5 minutes. still, check engine light on, i replaced the spark plugs, again, same thing. i don't know if a wire got switched around or whatnot inside the distributor, but i'm pretty sure it didn't. there are two wires connected to the ignition coil, one is at the negative terminal and is a yellow wire with a blue stripe and then there is a black wire with a yellow stripe at the positive terminal. both were switched from stock on the coil when i put them back in, but the bottom of those wires, where they connect to the distributor came off, and i think i have them in the right place. there are three areas where they can be plugged. the one closest to the tranny is already black and yellow, but the top two i'm not exactly sure which goes to which. can anyone post a diagram or help me out with what could possibly be wrong?
