So does PY have a clearcoat
checked all links regarding clearcoat on py itr's. All i read was about half saying there was, and half saying there wasnt. Any way to get an exact answer?? Im taking my oem sides to get painted next week and want to know for sure.

People don't think that they are cleared because when you polish a PY R your rag goes yellow. I was told that the factory clearcoat has a yellow tint to it.
Phoenix Yellow is a "single stage" paint job, where base and clear is mixed together and sprayed at the same time. So it really doesn't have a "clear coat" that is sprayed on after the base.

Yep, that is mostly why your rag turns yellow when waxing.

I was bout to say, I remember someone asking this before, perhaps a search? lol anyways yea as I am told the clearcoat is mixed togeather with the paint when its applied

nope, some of the ones i know for sure are the 1995 m3's, dakar yellow and red did not have a clear coat, but the next year, dakar got a clear coat and was renamed dakar 2, red got it also....food for thought

well if u polish ur car and the rag becames of the same color of the car then that is mono coat where the paint has the color and also a clear coat combined and no need for a clear coat
there is other where u paint the car with the color and then spray the clear coat (double coating)... when there is a clear coat added u dont see the color in the rag after polishing
