alternator?
what alternator should i use for my zc swap...i have the crx alt on now...but its giving me nothing but problems....battery goes dead when it sits for awhile....is fine when its running but let it sit for a couple hours and i have to jump it...and over 2k rpms all my lights get brighter, the other day i reved it and blew out my headlight bulbs?
Any d-series one should be fine.
I had a DX on mine for a while, found it lacked a little power. Ran the numbers on it, turns out it was a 50amp.
I ended up and still run a 92-95 D16z6 Alt. It's 70amps stock.

its fine when its running though...i can run it till the gas tank is empty and it will be fine...except for the rev over 2k and everythign gets brighter...just didnt know if i 89 teg alt would be better and solve my problems
thats a sign of a bad voltage regulator. its gone. its integrated wit hthe alt. that means your alt is bad.
its also probably destroyed your battery, which is why its not holding a charge and you have to jump it.
btw, didnt you notice all the battery acid in your engine bay??? thats what happens when the voltage regulator goes.

another question...could that be why my battery keeps dying when the car isnt running...because its sending to much juice to the battery when it is running...now i need a new alt...should i get a new battery at the same time
i also had an alternator problem. the original alt from a crx works fine. it's probably that one alt that's bad. do NOT trust autozoe or checkers 100% for alt checks. i have been told the alt was good when it wasn't. the thing that never fails for me, is the good old negative cable check. start the car, while it is running take off the negative cable from the battery. if it still runs alt is ok, if it shuts off, alt is bad. hasn't failed me yet. BTW let me know how you get the alt off, cause i had a bitch of a time. good luck.
ugh... you have no clue.
if the alternators problem is that its pumping out TOO MUCH JUICE, how is removing the battery terminal going to test that?
secondly, how does that test if the battery is bad?
