you can use your stock if you are trying to save some money but if bought them for the performance get yourself some nice struts....You dont need adjustables jsut some higher pressure struts. You stock struts if you decide to keep them will hold up for a few months if they are in decent shape but again your performance will suffer.

i had sportlines on stock shocks when my car was new.. put them on at about 2K miles.. the ride was ok.. the stock shocks held up for about 3 yrs (about 30K?).. then i swapped them out for Koni adjutable sports (yellows) and the ride is great.. much improved.. if you can i'd get them both done at once to save time and labor.. whether your doing it yourself (save time, labor) or paying some shop to do it (save money, time, labor costs)... if you can afford it.. do them both at once..

anyway your prolly wondering why i didnt just do it at once (since this is what i tell most ppl to do).. well 2 reasons 1) i was still in college.. which = poor and 2)my car was new.. shocks were new so as a student i didnt have $500 to throw around for new shocks.. but did have the $200 for new springs..

stock shocks will still work but not like new after a few months. It isnt like they will just die but peformance will def be hurt. i have even seen stock struts loose their charge pretty quickly.

AS for $500 for struts, yeh that is a lot but that would be a price for adustables.

Just get some non adjusts for around 200-300 so your whole package will put you around $500 and you will be extremely happy with it.

I give the stock shocks 6 months at most with normal driving. If you are doing the labor yourself, then you can get away with doing springs first and then doing shocks. If someone else is doing it for you, I would get the shocks at the same time. KYB AGX can be had for 325, Koni about 600, Tokicos are in between there. I think they are about 450 for a set.

I have been in this boat before. I will do a lot of car work myself, but I will not change my own springs(bad experience years ago). Do it right the first time. You will be much happier.
