I'm selling my car and i'm thinking about getting an accord and putting an h22 swap in it. I was curious if accords handle well or have decent acceleration. i wont be doing the swap for a year or so after I buy the car. So please share some details. I mean the car to do autox. But with a swap. Im going to drive the accord for a year if i get it then do the swap.
You've got to remember that the Honda Accord would be the equivilent to a Chevy Impala, while the Civic would be a Cavalier. Both built for different markets.
If you're of the "Big(er) persuation, then the Accord is for you. (and yes they can be made to more than "take care of business") It is a heavier chassis, but still exibits good handling (which can be improved upon), great brakes and of course the classic Honda fit and finish.
If you can fit (being of the small(er)) persuation. then a Civic might be your ticket. The same proceedures can be done to make go-fast, and possibly easier because you're not carrying as much weight around.
The H22 has been swapped into both.
Remember, it's not just Horsepower you're looking for. It's the Power to Weight ratio that makes the difference.

there are alot of good threads covering basically EVERY aspect of the h22 swap..since its the most common swap for the accord.
just spend a lil time doing searches and you shoudl be able to find all the info you need to know.
have fun.

Stock my car was sloppy. My 4th gen handles great now, just need bigger sway bars. The good springs, and tokico blues really helped. The stock engine has potential, but the h22 swap is by far the easiest and most common for the 4th gen accord.

really... how much do you want for it? What is done to it?
BTW i box at 160 so I'm awfully small. My concern was the weight and handleing of the 94-97 accord.
