Hi All...

New to here, got a yr 2000 (w) reg integra type R and want to do something with the alarm system on the car not only for increased security but so I also have the fascility of remote central locking, i only have the key to operate the central locking currently...

Hopefully some of you guys can help as I am a but confused:

I have phoned Honda who tell me that my year of car would have a thatcham Cat 1 system in it? however as far as I am aware I only have an imobiliser (chip built into the key?) with no siren... however I have also been told that some of these systems are wired into the horn of the car for the siren? would this be correct.

I have been onto Toad today to find out about systems, but this is where is gets confusing as they need to know what system is currently in the car and now I am unsure. They offer full Cat 1 systems like the Toad Ai606 but the guy says if you alread have a cat 1 imobiliser then you would be adding another by adding this system... then he said they have a system to upgrade from a Cat 2 systems to a Cat 1 system.

Please help if you have any experience! bit confused as you may have gathered!

If you have the same car please tell me what system is in it and what you have done if you have purchased and had a diff system put in...

Purchase an after market system, get some kill switches and put that thing to sleep every night in the garage.

 

That would be the best thing to do, I would advise on installing your own kill switches or to a trustworthy shop. Some shops will give out ur info and where they installed the switches so they can get their cut out of it. The immobilizer wont do anything.
