first off... my tach is jumping around at idle while the engine does not rev the tach just floats around.... i have no clue whe it is doing that

then all the lights r dim and the car barely has enuff power to run accesories (while running and when it is off)... (alternator is brand new) dont know why this is happneing...

thats pretty much it if ne one can help me out it would be greatly appreciated!

 

Check battery connections, have your battery tested..that would be a good place to start-

 

Grounds, battery, get a multimeter and verify that the battery supplies 12vdc with car off and closer to 14vdc with it running.

 

Does your car hold the charge?? If you start the car and disconnect the batter what happens...does it die or does it run?? if it dies then......

...then your alternator is bad...I know you said your Alt is new but New usually meant it was rebuilt and sometimes you get a bad one....Happened to me once and 2 to my other friends, Its a PITB to do an alternator in my car, gotta take alot of **** out.

Oh and what kind of batter do you have...regular sized Honda battery or one of those Odessy type batteries(the tiny ones)??

 

i have a normal sized honda battery and i think imma try what u said and start it and c if it runs with the battery disconnected! but still why would the tach do that?

 

alternator is fine i checked it! i have no idea what is goin on now my radio is flickering on and off! tach is floating around and i lose power past 6000 rpm's........... can some one please help me

 

i know you say the alt is fine, but i had the exact same problem about a year ago. autozone and checkers told me the alt was fine, but as soon as i did my handy dandy negative cable check it shut off, and i cahnged the alt anyway....viola. fixed. you might want to give it a shot if nothing else works. like i said dude, same exact problem. of course other things might give you that same problem for all i kow, but that was my experience. good luck.

 

no i did the check on the battery! it ran fine......... the alternator is all good i need help some one ne one............ i really wanna drive this fukin car

something else i forgot! when the car is runnin and i turn the lights on the tach falls to 0 and my radio turns off........ also when the car runs it drains the battery..... but the alternator is good cuz it will run without the battery.........
