Hey guys after hours of endless searching through the archives I couldn't find an article
on how to re-locate the battery to trunk/hatch area. Anyone have a link or a how to to this? I"m trying to " clean " up the engine bay. Thanks in advance!

You dont need write up...Really simple...Just have all the wire and length necissary..(just like spelling) Locate your wire away from exhaust like in your wire tray located running down the underside of the driver side... and Make sure you properly mount it for no moviment...and GROUND...stress proper ground..Ta da..poof relocated...

 

Just get this. Its the easiest way to do it.

This might just be me but the battery doesnt really take tht much space up. i dont get why people do this..can anyone fill me in?

 

i agree with the battery not taking up much space in the 92-95 Civic chassis, but the more important reason for doing this, is to even out the chassis' weight ratio.

Yeah thats true, I 100% agree with you. Whenever i take out my battery, the front end raises up a few inches so i can see how the ratio might be messed up

you guys make it sound like our batterys is off a big semi truck or something. from looks and weight my battery feels like a lawn mower battery. the only reason i can think of, when it come to relocating battery is incase if the car start to go on fire and the battery is sitting in the back for saftey reason.

lol i was kidding, i actually agree with you...that would be damn heavy if my car did raise a few inches(exagerated battery weight = sarcasm of post). I really dont see the need to do all of that relocation stuff...if you want to "even out the weight" put a 24-pack of coke in ur trunk.

Heres one on how to do it in a CRX same princable for any Honda I would think. The only reall benifit I Can see is if you want to run a larger battery physically for after market add ones aka sterio or amps or to POSSIBLY keep it warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.

I was going to do this at one time when I needed a new battery but lost my ambition and just bought the over priced stock sized one.

This is a very credible point. Laugh about it if you want, but small weight adjustments like this do make a difference in handling. Granted, its not something you need to worry about on a daily driver, but its by no means a stupid reason to move your battery.

 

Btw this is another good thing to do as a theft protection. Because people bend the hood to get to the battery. Its also a good weight dis.!!!
