i can't think of anywhere else to post this... does anyone know where to get replacment heat shields for converters? i've been all over the interent and can't find anything. only blankets, etc.
what would be even better is i'm told there are some that are held on by straps, as opposed to welding/bolts.

They tend to rattle...take a couple of big hose clamps (you can double up if need be) and wrap them around the shields.

i live in fresno, ca. they are cracking down. you will be sent the smog ref just because they THINK you have something illegal on your car. in that case a fake cat will do no good

I know companies in Japan sell straight pipes with little tabs welded where you could bolt on a heat shield. It dosen't look too hard to replicate if you have somebody who could weld near you

i don't think you need heat shields. they are a safety precaution. police around fresno are out of hand and want to be SURE then know it's a cat.
