'97 Accord DC header leaking?
I just installed a DC sports 4-2-1 header on my buddy's 97 Accord SE. It was dark when we finished. But there was definitely a minor leak where the collector met the B-pipe. Since we were doing this on jackstands and it was kind of tight under there. I told him to just take it to a local shop to have bolts tightened the next day. He did, they only charged him $10, and they put some kind of gasket in there. So it was fine for about a week. Now today, he tells me it's leaking again. He can hear it. I figured with a quality piece, like the DC, it would be a straight forward install with no hang-ups. I told him to take it back to the shop that tightened the bolts (since they can put it on a lift) to see if there is anything that can be done to remedy this.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? Any input would be helpful.
Thanks
Keith

How did you know there was a leak? Did you tighten the bolts to the engine first or to the cat first? In either case, ask the shop to re-tighten the bolts but for $10, you can't ask for much more help.
The leak was noticeable because I could hear it. And when I got underneath it, I could feel it coming out. We tightened the the connection @ the b-pipe first, and then @ the head. He is taking it back to the shop to have them look @ it again.
